Welcome to our website, an independent guide to the Mar Menor, in the region of Murcia.
This has been our home for several years now, and we thought that some sort of 'online information centre' for the area, would be useful - hence 'MarMenor-Online'.
Because we are lucky enough to live and work in this wonderful location, the information we put on the site is as up-to-date and accurate as possible.
To make the most of your holiday here, hiring a car is a good idea. Prices vary greatly, but we have found the link below to consistently find the best deals available, and you can book online to pick up from the airport.
The most central airport is currently Murcia San Javier, but this is expected to be replaced by the new international airport of Corvera in late 2012.
Corvera is almost complete, purporting to be in use and replacing Murcia San Javier
airport by early summer 2012, and the road network is constantly being improved by
the opening of additional sections of motorway. It is now much easier and quicker
to get to places like Mazarron, Campasol, even a return trip to Almeria is a comfortable
days drive.
The latest benefit to the area is the proposed Paramount theme park at
Condado de Alhama.
The final ‘signing’ of contracts for the land was been delayed from 7th of February until 7th March, but has now gone ahead.
